The Human Resource Assistant provides support to the HR Department in all aspects of human resources.

The Human Resource Officer provides support to the HR Department in all aspects of human resources, including; human resource planning and policy development, pensions and benefits plan administration, development and implementation of policies relating to the effective acquisition, retention and use of personnel within the company and its Subsidiary Companies.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Strategic Human Resource Planning including organization structure and succession planning.
  • Support the recruitment of staff in compliance with the recruitment policy.
  • Support organizational development including performance management, recognition programs, training and development and career planning;
  • Industrial Relations including labour turnover analysis, grievances and disputes, discipline, negotiations and conflict resolution and trade union relationships.
  • Enforce codes of ethics and conduct and policies including but not limited to; equality and diversity, conditions of employment, working practices, leave administration, absenteeism and punctuality.
  • Employee welfare and wellness including planning, execution and attendance to all staff events.
  • Separate staff in accordance with the company policy including exit interviews and administration of terminal benefits and ensuring all company assets are returned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

 

  • 5 O’Levels – English and Mathematics compulsory (General Proficiency - Grade II min)
  • Two (2) years’ experience in HR environment.
  • Certificate in Human Resource Management. 
  • Knowledge of labour laws, principles and practices of good industrial relations as it relates to Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of good Industrial Relations Laws
  • Hands on experience with an HRIS or HRMS.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, particularly NIS, PAYE and Health Surcharge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
