Our Client, highly regarded manufacturers and distributors in the Caribbean, poised for expansion, is seeking a result-oriented Engineer, experienced in multi-site facilities management and construction project monitoring, to ensure that company’s assets, safety and security standards maximize uptime – a key contributor to business growth.   

The Role

Reporting to the Group Project Manager, the position covers a range of disciplines and services – managing and maintaining all aspects of plant/facility infrastructure.  Responsibilities include the monitoring of an upcoming major civil works project; determining necessary building upgrades and procedural changes to optimize functionality, safety and operational efficiency.  The individual chosen will therefore need to:

  • Evaluate and develop processing plans and resource allocation, draw up blueprints and budgets to satisfy requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Coordinate/oversee contractors and act as liaison with vendors.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintenance with HACCP, OSHE and factory operations, to safeguard AEO status.
  • Deliver superior workflow efficiency and cost-effective business processes.
  • Partner with senior management/the executive to build collective responsibility and accountability to ensure a top class corporate property.

Preferred Profile

  • BSc Construction/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; at least 5 years in a similar role, that includes effective monitoring/reporting on contract/project performance.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SAP (or equivalent), MS Office.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Business minded, with a track record of delivery, problem-solving, flexibility and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Sound planning, organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills; a proven ability to broker consensus and cooperation to meet objectives.
  • The role requires an agile thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a leader who is responsive and technically sound, comfortable interacting at all levels.
