Account Payables Officer

General Definition of the Role:

 

The Accounts Payables Officer’s primary function is to ensure suppliers of goods and/or services are paid on a timely basis.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Preparing bills, invoices and bank deposits for payment.
  • Write up cheques as necessary
  • Process weekly printed cheques.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.
  • Understand expense accounts and cost centres.
  • Process monthly motor car payment
  • Prepare intcomex
  • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (sales tax, etc.)
  • Any other Accounting related duties assigned


 Education, Experience and Required Skills:

  • Degree in Business Administration or Qualified Accounting Technician (CAT/AAT) or pursuing ACCA
  • A minimum of 2 years related work experience.

 Willing to work extended hours to meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Analytical, has integrity and is confidential.
