REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Starbucks. 

 

SUMMARY

The role contributes to Starbucks success by leading a team of store managers to achieve business results while creating and maintaining the Starbucks Experience for our customers and partners. The incumbent will assist with managing the day to day operations of the brand, be an intermediary with the cross functional support team to support the operations. This person is a key member of the team supporting information management, management of business processes and problem resolution.  The majority of time will be spent understanding local customer needs, ensuring market-wide customer satisfaction and product quality, analysing key business indicators and trends and maximising the results of the business to inform the performance of the store managers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regularly analyzes partner, customer and financial data and leverages observations to inform decision making and improve results
  • Leverages existing tools, resources, programs and frameworks to achieve operational excellence
  • Assists with the development of store managers using a blend of existing development tools and on-the-job experiences
  • Addresses people challenges, needs, objectives and aspirations on a timely basis and applies the appropriate coaching principles in order to help them improve and succeed
  • Evaluates the impact of launched initiatives (for e.g. marketing) on the store environment and partners’ ability to deliver the Starbucks Experience
  • Ensures timely and appropriate response to customer feedback to drive issue resolution and customer satisfaction
  • Assesses store operational performance through reviews and use of organizational tools and reports by store management team on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Builds store manager business acumen to drive results through deep understanding of data to make decisions.
  • Proactively identifies problems, embraces problems as challenges to solve and coaches store managers to do the same using BOBs.
  • Collaborates with marketing on the development of the Annual Planning Calendar by prioritizing initiatives, balancing the work across planning periods and driving alignment with leaders
  • Reviews the Annual Planning Calendar regularly and adapts as needed to respond to business priorities
  • Collaborates with marketing to develop and deliver the Period Planning Kits (PPK), ensuring at least 80% of all field communications are included in the kit
  • Leads the Period Planning Visit (PPVs) meetings with store managers as required.
  • Consolidates & reviews system updates on stores’ performance as defined by VP Starbucks.
  • Creates implementation plans based on trend analysis and local market knowledge to ensure effective execution of initiatives that achieve both operational excellence and business results.
  • Follows up consistently on store initiatives with team of store managers.
  • Performs other related duties, as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field.
  • Five (5) years’ managerial experience in the retail, service or restaurant industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the restaurant (quick service) industry will be an asset.
