Business Development Officer

Interested persons are invited to apply for the positions of Business Development Officer assigned to Port of Spain and Arima Locations

 

Job Purpose

Attract new business while retaining existing customers. Provide economic/other intelligence on the mortgage market in area being served.  Prepare and/or approve/submit loan applications for processing and approval.

 

Responsibilities: Generating Sales:

  • Identify/contact potential clients to secure sales
  • Develop and implement marketing/sales strategies and plans
  • Conduct presentations to potential clients
  • Establish and cultivate good working relationships with current and potential clients
  • Attend networking opportunities and develop new business relationships
  • Prepare loan proposals for approval
  • Produce periodic sales reports, including activity, closings, actions and performance against targets

 

Business Strategy:

  • Assist in the identification and development of opportunities for new products and services as it relates to the market
  • Gather feedback from existing and potential clients to enhance and further develop our products/ services and how these are marketed
  • Keep up to date and report on the activities of competitors and potential collaborators in the industry
  • Identify potential strategic partnerships with various bodies and organisations who we could partner with TTMF

 

Branch Operations:

  • Would be required to stand-in at the Branch in the assigned location due to staff shortages for planned and unplanned leave

 

Job Skills

 

  • Knowledge of mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures
  • Knowledge of conventional and/or CBTT mortgage lending guidelines
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/ exceeding production goals
  • Reliable and trustworthy with a high level of personal and professional integrity
  • Confident and proactive in pursuing and closing sales opportunities
  • Able to work independently, on own initiative, as well as part of a team
  • Takes responsibility and able to manage own workload to meet changing demands
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to quickly develop and maintain personable client relationships
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Confident approach to networking and client relationships

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 CXC/O’Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics (Grade II, General Proficiency minimum)
  • 2 A’Level (CAPE) passes
  • Advanced Diploma in Business Management or related discipline or equivalent level of education and training in the field of sales and marketing
  • Three (3) years in the financial sector with responsibility for sales and business development
  • Computer Proficient with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of business products         
  • Good punctuality and attendance records
  • Would need to have a vehicle and a valid T&T Driver’ License.
