The HSSEQ Advisor will be responsible to provide technical, management and supervisory support to the HSSEQ Manager.

The HSSEQ Advisor will be responsible to provide technical, management and supervisory support to the HSSEQ Manager. Ensure that procedures and industry practices are implemented and followed throughout the Company's operations and activities. Assist in the management, development, implementation and maintenance of the company's HSE Management System in compliance with AIMS and other corporate standards.
This is a physically active role that encompasses on site visits to all ASCO operating locations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

General

• Promote and implement ASCO Integrated Management Systems- AIMS
• Conduct the required programmes of work – inclusive of inspections, investigations and audit programmes, monitor progress, review and endorse deliverables
• Conducts investigations, audits, etc. as necessary
• Monitor and report HSEQ performance of the Company's operations and activities; develop and execute an action plan for implementing improvements according to the programme of work
• Deliver reports and assessments in a timely manner and meeting specific deadlines where necessary
• Develop and co-ordinate the delivery of training programmes to the Company's field personnel in safety issues and emergency response and the HSEQ Management system according to the approved training schedule
• Complete HSSEQ related items as required by each ASCO client
• Contribute to client quarterly performance reviews
• Assist the departmental manager in the execution and achievement of financial and non-financial departmental goals and objectives – inclusive of activity schedules and budget targets
• Act as Emergency Warden where necessary

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety management, environmental or physical science; or equivalent professional designation or qualification
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the Oil & Gas sector
• OSHA/ NEBOSH certification
• Clean Certificate of Character

• Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office programmes, with a good working knowledge of database and in the use of hazard and risk assessment tools

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
• Certified ISO 9001 Auditor Training, technical knowledge and experience with ISO 14001 auditing will be an asset
• Knowledge of OSH Act Trinidad & Tobago
• Advanced Safety Auditing
• A technical knowledge of HSE legislation, industry practice and standards, systems design and implementation

HSEQ
• In partnership with the HSE department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes.
• Reports all incidents or breaches of policy or regulations to the line manager.
• Fully endorse the ASCO ‘Stop the Job’ policy and commitment to proactive intervention where an unsafe act or condition is observed.
• Adherence to the ASCO’s integrated management system ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained.
