Our Client, Republic Bank Limited, is seeking to fill the position of Chief Transformation Officer (CTO).

JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for leading and driving the Bank’s transformation program to grow current business, achieve strategic priorities, and improve the Bank’s operational goals. The CTO will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisation by driving change, innovation, and growth strategies to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Transformation Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company’s transformation strategy in alignment with the 5 -year strategic plan.
  • Lead and oversee cross-functional transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Monitor and report progress on transformation initiative to the executive leadership team and board of directors.

Change Management

  • Champion a culture of change and innovation throughout the organization.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments and teams undergoing transformation.

Innovation & Technology

  • Identify and assess emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Operational Efficiency

  • Streamline processes and operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digitization to enhance productivity.

Risk Management

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Talent Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing transformation team.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners and regulators.
  • Foster positive relationships to support transformation efforts.

  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar field
  • Professional accreditation in project-program management or MBA is preferred
  • Certification in change management (e.g. Prosci, ACMP, PMP)
  • 10-15 years of experience across transformations and senior management functions
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial institutions or transformational advisory functions
  • Demonstrated transformation experience as an interim in either of the following positions; CRO, COO, CFO, MD/GM of large Business Unit
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in driving rapid and successful operational turnarounds across key strategic, revenue, cost and working capital levers
  • Demonstrated competencies in Agile methodologies

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong all-round knowledge in banking operations with in-depth understanding of various banking products and services
  • Strong knowledge in business operations and finance, must be able to deep dive into P&L and ensure that improvement initiatives make sense
  • Strong cross-functional experience across multiple business units and /or industries
  • Strong knowledge of Change Management, Project Management, and Product Management
  • Excellent communications skills especially with Board, C-level and line managers
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, proven in a large, high-paced program environment
  • Excellent observation, negotiation, persuasive and decision-making skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent leadership skills in building, developing and managing a strong transformation office
