Our Client, Republic Bank Limited, is seeking to fill the position of Senior Manager, Strategic Expansion.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Manager in the Strategic Expansion Office, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of Republic’s financial group beyond its core business and geographies. You will be responsible for executing strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures (JVs), and divestitures, overseeing the entire process from pre-transaction evaluation through transaction execution, and post-transaction integration. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in successfully executing complex transactions and a deep understanding of the financial industry.

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • M&A Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to define the strategic direction for M&A activities, identifying target markets, industries, and companies that align with our growth objectives.
  • Deal Origination: Source potential M&A and JV opportunities through market research, industry analysis, and network connections. Establish and maintain relationships with investment banks, advisors, and potential partners.
  • Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, evaluating the financial, operational, legal, and regulatory aspects of potential transactions. Assess risks and opportunities associated with each deal.
  • Financial Modeling and Valuation: Develop detailed financial models to assess the financial impact of proposed transactions. Determine valuation metrics and negotiate deal terms to maximize value for the organization.
  • Transaction Execution: Lead cross-functional deal teams, working closely with legal, finance, and operational teams to execute transactions efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Integration and Post-Transaction Management: Oversee the integration of acquired entities or JV partners, ensuring a seamless transition and alignment with our strategic objectives. Manage post-transaction performance and drive value creation.
  • Divestitures: Identify and execute divestiture opportunities as part of the portfolio management strategy, optimizing the organization's asset base.
  • Risk Management: Continuously assess and manage the risks associated with M&A and JV activities, including regulatory compliance, financial performance, and market conditions.

  

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in strategic expansion, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or related fields within the financial industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing complex M&A and JV transactions, including deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
