Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Community & Workers of Jamaica Cooperative Credit Union Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our Finance and Accounting Department to successfully develop, implement, and manage the Credit Union’s financial strategies and systems.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will develop and implement pivotal financial strategic initiatives and models to achieve cost-effective utilisation of the Credit Union’s financial resources and maximise the Credit Union’s return on investment.

The CFO will assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts and communicate findings to and engage with the Board of Directors, the CEO, and other members of the executive leadership team.

The CFO leads the implementation of financial projects for the Credit Union and has overall supervisory responsibility for the day to day running of the Finance and Accounting department.

The Chief Financial Officer directly supervises the specific functions of the Finance and Accounting team including Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting and Treasury Management,

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

• Forecasting of future financial needs of the Credit Union.
• Financial strategy formulation and implementation
• Finance planning and budget preparation
• Financial systems management and implementation
• Stakeholder and external relations
• People management and development

Education and Experience Required:

1. Post-graduate experience in the financial services sector, with at least eight years’ experience in an executive leadership role.
2. A first in degree in Accounting, Finance, financial management or related discipline from a reputable institution
3. Relevant professional certification (ACCA and or CFA) is required.
4. Evidence of excellent leadership, goal achievement, stakeholder engagement, professionalism, networking, and collaborative skills.
