Maintenance Manager (Commercial Solar PV)

Overview: Our client is a reputable, Renewable Energy Systems supplier in Barbados with an excellent track record in design/installation of cost-effective solutions. Due to exponential growth, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced person to fill this key position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate, control, and maintain Solar PV Plants to meet the company’s objectives and client contractual requirements.
  • Identify maintenance requirements, scheduling resources, safely managing work control, and reporting on completed work.
  • Write and review maintenance procedures and contracts.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of a team of solar PV technicians.
  • Prepare CAD drawings and technical information to O&M team as needed.
  • Monitor inventory of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Work with vendors for product technical support, warranties, and logistics.
  • Coordinate and supervise work of subcontractors (IT, civil, grass cutting, cleaning, security etc.).
  • React to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Determine common causes of lost production and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Analysis of maintenance KPIs and implementing strategies to improve these.
  • Be the single point of contact for clients for the O&M service, provide updates to clients and information for contractual reporting.
  • Ensure client invoicing and supplier payment is carried out correctly.
  • Provide support with commissioning, testing and inspection of completed works and play a key part in adopting new sites into the maintenance systems.
  • Research and report on new technology in RE related to the company's improvement of goods and services.
  • Preparing and delivering project hand-over packages including all relevant documentation to the client or client’s representative.
  • Conduct after service training to facility operators and/or maintenance team as needed.
  • Developing, using, and maintaining a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other quality management tools, as necessary.
  • Monitor PV system performance and generate monthly and annual O&M reports.
  • Travel to sites as required to support O&M Team.
  • Troubleshooting PV equipment failures including AC/DC ground faults, communication issues, switch gear trips, and generic PV equipment.
  • Ensure that acceptable health, safety, and housekeeping practices are enforced in the Company and at work sites.
  • Manage the use and maintenance of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

 

 

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Min. BSc in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven supervisory experience of technical staff.
  • Clean driving license/Car owner
  • Strong communication skills with clients/internal stakeholders
  • Experience with Solar PV desirable but not essential.
