Sales/ Business Development Consultant (Belize)

Job Title: Sales/ Business Development Consultant (Belize)

 

Reports to: Head of Caribbean Sales and Marketing

Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct termly visits to all government and private primary and secondary schools to promote Hodder Education’s print and digital resources.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with the local Ministry of Education, various Subject Officers, and key decision-makers in schools, educational institutions, and government agencies.
  • Organize teacher training sessions and provide training and support to customers on the use of our products and services.
  • Maintain a strong level of knowledge about Hodder Education’s product and services, through self-study, collaboration, and scheduled trainings.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and business opportunities/new revenue streams, focusing on growth for professional services while expanding footprint in schools for core primary and secondary products and titles.
  • Develop and implement annually, comprehensive sales and marketing to achieve business growth targets.
  • Identify and pursue appropriate marketing opportunities, including sponsorships, and events.
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation to closing deals, and maintain accurate sales activity records.
  • Maintain accurate information and activity tracking.
  • Produce accurate and timely forecasts as required by management.
  • Manage bookseller accounts.
  • Provide regular reports to the Head of Caribbean Sales and Marketing on market trends, competition, potential areas for new publishing, sales pipeline performance as well as new business opportunities and initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Caribbean marketing team to ensure the effective implementation of marketing campaigns.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, etc.
  • Attend Hodder Education’s Annual Sales Conference.
  • Participate in the Ministry procurement process.
  • Create/maintain positive ROI on sponsorships and marketing activities in the territory.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the education industry. Established relationships with decision-makers and educators in primary and secondary schools is a distinct plus.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Belize education market is a plus.
  • Reliable motor vehicle.
  • Excellent selling and negotiation skills.
  • Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must already reside in Belize.

 TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT:

 The selected candidate will work for Hodder Education as an independent contractor, with a monthly flat fee and is eligible for bonuses. Additional contract terms, such as duration and termination conditions, should be discussed and agreed upon during the hiring process.
