Marketing Manager
He/she will define and develop strategic positioning and marketing campaigns for Island Routes, which may include planning and launching new tours/destinations, introducing new product categories, designing trade and loyalty programs, and promoting unique products for the Caribbean’s premier destination and experienced company.
The role has responsibility for overall marketing planning and the execution of the global marketing plan, positioning Island Routes at the center of the global trade and consumer landscape for long-term growth, while continuously boosting its brand recognition and reputation in the Caribbean and global marketplace ahead of its competitors.
The Marketing Manager will provide oversight for the various areas that fall under the marketing umbrella, including creative services, digital media, social media, public relations & content, photo and video shoot coordination, advertising, media, and traditional marketing. He/she will oversee in-destination marketing to ensure a robust, consistent, fully integrated marketing effort.
This individual will be onsite at our Montego Bay location.
Key Activities and Duties:
- Leads the development of product launch campaigns, for both digital and traditional advertising channels, to introduce and support key product offerings.
- Develops and manages annual marketing budget and marketing schedule based on business needs and operational goals.
- Collaborates with each marketing channel to evaluate and soundly guide their independent planning strategies.
- Ensures alignment in timing, strategy, message, audience, CX, and extent of marketing effort to support the product campaigns across all channels.
- Evaluates key markets and potential target audiences to identify marketing opportunities and messages that will resonate with the audience.
- Develops detailed timelines to determine the most effective time to launch or push product marketing campaigns across different channels and markets.
- Works with internal and external creative teams to brief the approach, and oversee the development of creative visuals, messages, videos, and other relevant assets to support product campaigns.
- Manages the development of media assets and creative deliverables to ensure timely production and completion, photo and video shoot coordination.
- Serves as a liaison for the creative agency of record and special projects.
- Works collaboratively with Director to ensure the strategic brand vision is carried through internally and with an agency of record.
- Facilitates the development of campaign presentations to executive leaders.
- Coordinates paid advertising efforts for traditional channels including gathering proposals, negotiating placements, drafting media plans for approval, and organizing insertion orders and contracts.
- Reviews incoming media solicitations and provides a point-of-view (POV) to brand marketing on prospective new vendors and media partners.
- Supports trafficking of all traditional advertising and media components for Island Routes.
Other responsibilities would include:
- Internal and external stakeholder management, provide management of budget, marketing calendars, critical paths, and cost development/maintenance as well as KPI/ ROI support of marketing and advertising.
- Drafts, edits, and proofreads marketing materials including, but not limited to, advertorials, ad copy, and collateral material.
- Maintains a consistent brand voice and message across all paid programs and advertising vehicles.
- Stays informed of new trends within advertising, marketing, destination, and tourism arenas.
- Any other related tasks as assigned by Management.
Qualification, Experience and Knowledge:
- 5-7 years of marketing or advertising experience and extensive familiarization with advertising and/or marketing principles.
- Minimum Education (4-year degree) in marketing.
- Experience in managing or trafficking creative projects.
- Experience in media planning, media buying, and budgeting.
- Strong negotiation skills are a plus.
- Strong writing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to review marketing materials and campaigns to ensure adherence to brand standards.
- A passion for and understanding of branding/brand building.
- Expert in MS Office suite of programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Team management/Leadership experience.
