Under the direction of the Corporate Services Manager, the Driver will be assigned as directed and needed.

POSITION: Bearer

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Services

REPORT TO: Business Strategy Support and Office Manager

Key Outputs

Transportation of goods and services of the company, organization staff from one point to the another as required. Sort and dispatch mail, goods and documents as required.

Main Duties/Tasks

• Ensuring the sorting and dispatch of mail and other items as required
• Transporting mail and other items as required
• Transporting staff as required
• Driving company vehicles as required
• Assisting in the loading or unloading of vehicle as required
• Ensures that the company vehicles are always roadworthy and properly maintained by:
• Obtaining adequate fuel
• Ensuring the vehicle’s license, insurance and fitness certificate are in order
• Check the vehicles often to ensure that signalling and braking systems, oil, water, brake fluid, spare tyres, and other accessories are adequate and in good condition
• Takes the vehicles for servicing when necessary
• Prepares reports of any accidents in which the vehicles are involved for submission to your supervisor
• Perform any other related duties as required

Key Competencies

• Excellence driving skills
• Good knowledge of the corporate area
• Good knowledge of Jamaica’s geographical area/road network
• Knowledge of basic mechanics is expected

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license free of penalties
• A secondary education
• No major accidents within last 3 years
• Clean police record
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
• Basic computer skills would be an asset

Job will is stationed in the company’s head office in Kingston

• Weekend and irregular hours of work will is required periodically
• Extensive travel out of town
• Late night/early morning travel out of town
