                                                 Relief Sales Rep

 

The Relief Sales Representative has responsibility to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors, whilst ensuing receivables and all credit related activities are in sync with company mandates

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities
  • Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offered
  • Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to conduct demos and relay objection-handling
  • Manage and reduce waste due to expired, damaged and product returns from trade in keeping with targets
  • Prepare professional, complete, concise and accurate reports, proposals, booking packages, and other documentation as required for sales presentations
  • Achieve sales goals by assessing current client needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers, often utilizing product demos and presentations (ex of selling tool - Activity Based Selling)
  • Coordinate with other Sales Representatives, truckers and all other departments to achieve company quotas and standards
  • Perform market research and regular competitor monitoring
  • Liaise with the Credit Department to facilitate the collection, reconciliation and balance of receivables
  • Adhere to and execute effectively and efficiently all credit related matters as per Credit Department manual and terms of reference
  • Any other duties as may be assigned within the scope of the job

                 

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum five (5) CSEC passes or any equivalent secondary level qualifications with at least 3 -5 years’ experience within an FMCG environment
  • Computer literate with high proficiency in using sales management software and CRM is an asset
  • Personal integrity, results-driven with strong negotiation and listening skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Proven success rate at levels above quotas
  • Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
  • Strong analytical, planning organizational, and negotiation skills

 

   SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB

  • The job is based on a minimum forty-hour workweek; however, the nature of the company’s business will require flexible working hours during the week and possibly on weekends and public holidays
  • The working environment dictates that the incumbent must be able to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment

                               Merchandising Supervisor

The Merchandising Supervisor has responsibility for supervising/monitoring the activities of the Merchandising team, ensuring that the targeted goals are met or exceeded with the aim of increasing sales within the assigned retail outlets   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of Merchandisers and in-store Promoters
  • Distribute tools and equipment to Merchandisers such as POS materials, and the dissemination of information re new products, specials, consumer promotion etc.
  • Partner with Merchandisers to ensure that stocks are properly rotated and that out dated or damaged goods are removed from the shelves immediately
  • Provide information from the trade to Regional Sales Managers to assist with the planning of promotional activities and placement of major POS e.g. stands, racks etc.
  • Ensure that Promoters and Merchandisers adhere to the rules governing attire, behavior, attendance and the overall representation of the company
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to secure additional shelf facings and secondary displays where possible
  • Provide monthly reports re trade visits and general activities in the region assigned
  • Execute all other functions deemed necessary for the over efficiency and effectiveness of the department
  • Develop guidelines and policies to ensure the smooth running of the department
  • Ensure that the department meets the necessary deadlines re the dissemination of information and the distribution of POS
  • Make monthly visits to the various regions to assess the efficiency of each Supervisor
  • Ensure that the necessary tools and equipment are in stock and available to supervisors for distribution
  • Work with Brand Managers to ensure that each brand is properly represented in the trade
  • Monitor vacation and sick leave of Merchandisers to ensure that stores are properly covered
  • Assign Relief Merchandisers, where necessary, to assist with the work load
  • Conduct quarterly assessments to ascertain training and developmental needs
  • Any other duties as may assigned within the scope of the job

                  

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Tertiary Level Qualifications in Business Administration, or an equivalent field, with at least three (3) years’ overall experience, two (2) of which should be at the supervisory level
  • Professional certifications in Sales or Marketing would be asset
  • Must have prior experience in the FMCG industry
  • Excellent communication skills – both in written and verbal formats with great presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong people management, coaching and motivational skills
  • Solid and effective selling and negotiating techniques
  • Results oriented, execution driven and innovative in thinking
  • Strong time management abilities, including planning, organizing and prioritizing workload
  • Must have a clear understanding of how the role of merchandising supports sales
  • A proven track record of achieving excellent results with merchandising strategies and promotional activities
  • Creative and innovative thinking
  • The ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions
