The Business Facilitation Officer (GMG/SEG 1), assists with the technical aspects of the ministry’s work relating to the management and monitoring of the Manufacturing Sector as well as the Scrap Metal Trade.
JOB PURPOSE
Under the general supervision of the Director of Manufacturing & Incentive Monitoring (GMG/SEG 3), the Business Facilitation Officer (GMG/SEG 1), assists with the technical aspects of the ministry’s work relating to the management and monitoring of the Manufacturing Sector as well as the Scrap Metal Trade.
Salary range: $3,094,839 - $4,162,214 per annum

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the preparation of the Division’s Operational Plan
- Assists in the preparation of the Unit Plan
- Prepares individual work plan
- Provides technical support to industry related Agencies
- Provides technical support to the Divisional Director
- Represents the Industry Division / Ministry at other meetings, seminars and workshops as required.
- Performs other related duties that may be assigned.
TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Updates Manufacturing Registry/Database.
- Receives and processes manufacturing status applications.
- Liaises with critical manufacturing sector stakeholders.
- Participates in joint site visits with JCA to entities seeking manufacturing status.
- Assists in the research and preparation of Cabinet Notes, Submissions and Ministry Papers as necessary.
- Analyzes issues brought to the Ministry by the manufacturing sector.
- Updates database in relation to concerns brought to the Ministry by manufacturing stakeholders.
- Organizes workshops, seminars and conferences in respect of issues relating to the manufacturing sector.
- Assists in all activities of the Ministry relating to the regulation of the scrap metal industry and advices the Minister.
- Makes recommendations in respect to the processing of scrap metal licenses.
- Participates in site inspections of Scrap Metal facilities.
- Advises scrap metal stakeholders on the procedures in respect to scrap metal licenses and permits
- Monitors the Scrap Metal industry.
- Addresses queries and complaints relating to the scrap metal trade.
- Reviews Industry related special permit applications
- Advises stakeholders on matters relating to the Trade (Scrap Metal) Regulations and other areas of the Division as required.
HUMAN RESOURCES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares Performance Evaluation Report
- Prepare Monthly Productivity Report
- Promote harmonious relationship within the division and across the Ministry
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Manufacturers Register/Database updated according to established standards and timeframe.
- Manufacturers status application completed in accordance with GOJ standards and within the agreed timeframe.
- Client Relations Management (CRM) recommendations submitted within the stipulated timeframe.
- Cabinet Notes, Submissions and Ministry Papers prepared according to GOJ standards and format and submitted within the required timeframe.
- Scrap Metal Industry Status Reports and recommendations produced according to GOJ standards and submitted within the required timeframe.
- Briefs and Reports prepared in accordance with required formats and submitted within the specified timeframe.
- Industry related special permit applications are reviewed according to established procedures and in a timely manner.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
First degree in Business Administration, or Public Administration or its equivalent
Or
Certificate in Public Administration or its equivalent along with three years’ experience in the public sector
