Accountant (FMG/PA 2), salary range $3,770,761 - $5,071,254 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare annual budgets for MOAFM with supporting schedules
Prepare and submit detailed financial reports monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annually for submission to MOAFM
Prepare bank reconciliation in accordance with company procedures; prepare journal entries, ensure accuracy of bank lodgments
Summarize and prepare monthly and fortnightly payrolls, prepare journal entries and post to the general ledger
Prepare audit schedules for submission to external auditors
Initiate monthly payment procedures for all payroll, statutory and other payroll deductions: prepares statutory analysis for submission to MOAF for payment to TAJ
Prepare direct deposits for relevant expenditure ensuring that correct procedures are followed with relevant supporting documents provided
Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Chief Accountant and General Manager from time to time
Ensure that records for travelling officers, staff contracts, emoluments and leave entitlement are kept up to date
Participate in the development of the annual project work plan and setting of performance targets

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience
B. Sc. in Accounting, Management Studies (majoring in Accounts) or ACCA (at least level 2)
Five (5) years working experience with knowledge of management techniques and supervisory practices;
Experience in Government accounting with emphasis on central Government regulations and procedures in accordance with the FAA Act and regulations;
