The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities including the receiving and distribution of a wide variety of pharmaceutical and convenience products, maintaining inventory and associated records.

JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse activities including the receiving and distribution of a wide variety of pharmaceutical and convenience products, maintaining inventory and associated records. He/She is also responsible for planning and assigning daily work and, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. The Supervisor is also responsible for the overall housekeeping of the warehouse, which includes proper storage, easy identification of goods and cleanliness. He/She will ensure that the daily warehouse operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations.

JOB DUTIES

  • Plan and coordinate the receipt of incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to achieve the team’s objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Warehouse Manager
  • Recommends annual budget requirement for the warehouse
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of effective supervision, training and development and health, safety and welfare of the warehouse team
  • Ensure shipment’s and inventory transactions accuracy
  • Ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely inventory management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with expired and damaged stock.
  • Organize and ensure accurate inventory counts including cycle interim and annual
  • Ensure that the quality of the products and service within the warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the internal and external customers
  • Implement the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the warehouse
  • Maintain warehouse operations in accordance with company compliance standards
  • Maintain a level of warehouse cleanliness
  • Ensure appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe storage and transport of all goods
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees performance
  • Resolve discrepancies with Category Management and Accounting regarding the invoices, packing slips and receiving reports
  • Work with Warehouse Manager on the production of reports as required
  • Ensure the maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment assigned to the warehouse
  • Assign daily workload to warehouse personnel, mapping the daily routes. Responsible for add-ons or deletions for daily routes
  • Operate forklift when required
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships, both internal and external.
  • Performs any other duties as required by the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Inventory or related field

or

  • 2-3 years of warehousing, inventory control and supervisory experience within a multiple store (FMCG) organization responsible for Supervision, Safety Management, Data Entry Management, Reporting, Analyzing Information, Time Management and, Equipment Maintenance

Education, skills and training considered as assets for the job:

  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in supervising teams within tight quality and efficiency parameters
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
