SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

The supply chain manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire supply chain of an organization. Their role involves planning, coordinating, and optimizing the flow of goods, services, and information from the point of origin to the point of consumption. He/she develops and implements strategies to enhance supply chain performance, particularly inventory management.  He/she develops inventory strategies, set inventory targets, and monitor stock levels to balance customer demand and minimize carrying costs. This manager uses inventory management techniques, such as demand forecasting, safety stock analysis, and order optimization, to maintain optimal inventory levels. The right candidate will have an excellent problem-solving mindset and rigorous attention to detail, staying organized as he/she manages a large network of suppliers and distributors. The supply chain manager must also be a strong communicator with a desire for innovation and transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyse data from shipping and delivering processes to find any issues and with an eye for optimization
  • Coordinate shipping logistics

  • Execute inventory counts as scheduled, reconcile results, and produce variance reports
  • Investigate and report product variances and discrepancies within the warehouse
  • Analyse inventory movement to identify slow moving and obsolete stock
  • Ensure all incoming products are received and managed according to company procedures
  • Ensure that items are available when they are needed to satisfy the organization's business needs, by maintaining an optimal inventory of goods and the accurate and timely updating of records to reflect efficient stock levels
  • Assist the Inventory Controller in Planning, Organizing and leading annual and cycle counts as required for all locations
  • Monitor inventory movement to ensure procedures and report deviations in procedure
  • Assist in supervising the inventory team

 Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in inventory, accounting and auditing principles and practices
  • Strong analytical skills and with strong focus on accuracy and attention to details
  • Experience in retail operations would be an asset
