Medical Trade Representative

The Medical Trade Representative is responsible for marketing and promoting medical products and services to Doctors, Pharmacists and other medical personnel at hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and private practices. Increase product awareness by providing advice, responding to queries and introducing new products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrange appointments with doctors, pharmacists and hospital medical teams, which include pre-arranged appointments or regular “cold calling”.
  • Demonstrate or prepare and make presentations to doctors, practice staff and nurses in GP surgeries, hospital doctors and pharmacists in the retail sector.
  • Organise conferences for doctors and medical staff.
  • Align products to meet the business and scientific needs of healthcare professionals
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with health care teams supporting administrative staff.
  • Maintain detailed records of all contacts and client visits
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Plan work schedules inclusive of weekly and monthly timetables
  • Keep up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company interpret, present and discuss this knowledge with health professionals during presentations
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and prepare strategic response
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in the National Health Service, anticipating potential negative and positive impacts on the business and adapting strategy accordingly.
  • Develop strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and talk to contacts in the medical and healthcare sector.
  • Prepare and disseminate reports and other documents.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary degree in Pharmacology, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum two years working field sales or medical sales experience.

REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must reside in St. James or close proximity
  • Must own a reliable motor vehicle and possess a valid driver licence
  • Must be able to travel island wide
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service organizational skills
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and creativity.
  • Sales oriented
  • Detail oriented, pays keen attention to accuracy.
  • Must be able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure.
  • Highly developed organisation skills
  • Excellent team player with the ability to relate to staff at all levels.
