Job Summary:
Under minimum supervision, ensure that the products, services and product lines that fall under your domain are well-represented and displayed with current and potential customers; continuously monitor marketing trends and keep a close eye on competitive products; develop, implement and execute marketing strategies and activities for the Island Planters brand and ensure that the Company is projected as the Leader in the Industry.
You must at all times pay special attention to and promote workplace safety.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to:
- Create and execute, annual marketing plans for the Island Planters Brand to ensure growth and profitability in a timely manner
- Brainstorm with the sales team and execute marketing campaigns that deliver on strategic objectives, i.e. competitions, giveaways, promos etc.
- Produce Quarterly newsletter of brand related topics.
- Carry out regular brand analysis to understand market needs, trends and changes eg- styles & colours etc
- Manages the A&P budget and spend alongside the Marketing manager
- Measure and manage the ROI on all promotions via sales data analysis
- Work alongside the sales team and other internal departments to understand market trends and needs to provide marketing collateral to assist with sales and growth of the portfolio
- Regular and timely submission of monthly sales reports on the category and provide marketing support to address any gaps.
- Regular visit to the trade to advise on and create signage / displays to increase brand awareness which align with the overall business strategy of the brand and company
- Share strategies best practices and promotions with internal group on a quarterly basis.
- Produce a monthly trade visit plan to respective market locations eg Garden Shops, IP Store , Home stores, Hardwares etc
- Submit trade visit reports two (2) business days after visit day.
- Provides on –going Brand training and guidance to the sales team
- Create Brand Planograms based on customer segment A, B or C
- Track and keep abreast of all competitive trade activity to create counteractive approach to secure and grow market share.
- Responsible for providing and keeping current annual and monthly forecast with Production and Warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate availability of stock aligned with Category targets
- Provide market research on trends and give recommendations for new lines, sizes, colours and/or styles.
- Maintain a database of customers and potential customers within various channels; e.g. Garden shops, designers, hardware’s, decorators, etc.
- Work closely with the Island Planters store (St. James) to ensure branding, merchandising and promotions are consistent with the brand image. Monthly reports to be submitted to analyze sales within the store.
- Perform any other job related duties as specified by the Marketing Manager and/or Directors
Social Media
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams to create social buzz regarding new product launches.
- Work alongside Social media provider to review and align Quarterly content calendars previous Quarter for all platforms to incorporate all requirements.
- Manage and oversee and provide back up support for all social media content
- Submit monthly reports on web traffic and user engagement with content customization.
- Keep abreast of local social media trends, best practices and technologies to boost brand awareness.

- Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s website which fall under your preview.
