The Procurement Operations Assistant Officer will develop in depth knowledge of the process areas and will foster a continuous process improvement culture within the team.

 Role: Assistant Officer, Procurement Operations 

JOB SUMMARY

The Procurement Operations Assistant Officer will be primarily responsible for facilitating and supporting the procurement process for indirect spend including: technology, publications and subscriptions, office supplies, branded merchandise and other indirect categories utilizing the Coupa platform. The Procurement Operations Assistant Officer will develop in depth knowledge of the process areas and will foster a continuous process improvement culture within the team.

Core functions:

  • Fulfill Clients’ purchase requests submitted through the Coupa P2P platform or General Purchasing mailbox
  • Respond to general inquiries submitted to the general email boxes and direct purchase requests to Coupa when required
  • Support the enablement of suppliers on the Coupa P2P platform Educate end users on how to submit proper purchase requests when the need arises
  • Educate end users on Firm policeIdentify and escalate areas for process improvements or increased efficiency
  • Educate end users on Firm polices 
  • Engage and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality product, on time delivery, accurate quantity, correct invoicing and resolve discrepancies
  • Identify and escalate areas for process improvements or increased efficiency
  • Liaise with various departments (e.g. Legal, Risk, Finance, Brand, IT) to ensure purchases meet firm standards and appropriate internal procedures are followed prior to purchase
  • Support special initiatives/projects 

Professional qualification:
The successful candidate should possess:

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management or related field from an accredited college or university required
  • Six (6) months’ related work experience within Purchasing or Procurement or a similar process
  • Prior experience with Procurement systems; Coupa (preferred
