Accounting Officer - Payables

Timely and accurate delivery of payments.

We are the largest retailer in the region, and are looking for a talented and dedicated individual to fill the position of:

  THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST:

• Perform daily reviews of cash loan EBT documents received and disburse customer payments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Faciliate weekly reconciliations of EBT GL payable account.
• Liaise with specific stores to resolve any issue with disbursement.
• Prepare monthly utility accruals and journal.
• Post accurate data to the accounting system (Journal entries, supplier invoices – local and overseas to the Purchases Ledger).
• Reconcile assigned supplier statements as well as sub-ledger account.
• Respond to all queries received (written or oral) relating to AP within 24 hours.
• Ensure that all reconciliations agree to the G/L.

• Tertiary level education, preferably in Accounting or related subject
• Minimum Level 1 ACCA or equivalent
• Two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity
• Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills
• Effective oral and written skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational/coordination skills and excellent at time management
• Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
• Analytical and problem –solving skills
• Experience in a retail environment
