Job Details

Position: Full-Time Sous Chef

Location: Kingston, Jamaica

 The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu planning, inventory management, staff supervision, and ensuring the highest quality of food production and presentation.

Summary of Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of menu items, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
  • Oversee the cooking process to meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
  • Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Place orders for necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain high food quality standards and consistency.
  • Ensure the kitchen follows all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary certification 
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef 
  • High School Leaving Certificate/Diploma
  • Food Handlers Permit and knowledge of food safety regulations
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in a refined/elevated culinary environment
