Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of REGIONAL SECURITY OFFICER based in Kingston.

REGIONAL SECURITY OFFICER

Reporting to the Security Manager, the incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and maintaining adequate security measures for the protection of all the organization’s personnel, property and customers. The Regional Security Officer will also be required to assist in formulating disaster preparedness plans.  

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring that adequate security measures are in place at the organization’s facilities.
  • Monitoring security personnel and systems employed by the entity.
  • Assisting in the development of policies and procedures that will support the protection of the organization’s properties.
  • Ensuring that employees observe the security policies and procedures.
  • Investigating and compiling reports of incidents, accidents and property loss / damage.
  • Developing, preparing and presenting training programmes concerning security and global positioning systems.
  • Conducting security investigations and security surveys as required; monitoring recommendations to ensure compliance and implementation.
  • Preparing and submitting Security Reports as directed.

IDEALLY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Security Management / Security Administration and Management from a recognition institution.
  • At least Three (3) years active service in the JDF / JCF or other recognized entity in the Security Industry at the supervisory level.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Spreadsheet Software, CCTV and Access Control Applications, and Security Systems.
  • Sound knowledge in the development and implementation of cost effective security systems and measures.
  • Knowledge of the law as it relates to national, industrial and electronic security. 
  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices of modern crime prevention, criminal investigative practices, case management, apprehension and rules of evidence.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a great amount of initiative and integrity.
  • Excellent human relations, leadership and supervisory skills.
