Mechanical Supervisor - Pipeline Installation Contract - 6 months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Mechanical Supervisor – Pipeline Installation

Department: Operations - Projects

Reporting to: Projects Manager

 

This is a contract position of six (6) months.  

 

Job Objective:

To directly manage new pipeline projects complying with applicable engineering, safety and environmental standards and regulations. The incumbent will have to manage resources, supervise and coordinate ALL work activity with Operations, Maintenance and contractor personnel for assigned projects and execute in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Roles / Responsibilities:

• Assume full responsibility of project entrusted to you.

• Review and fully understand the intent of the SOW including DWGs.

• Prepare project execution scope of works, SOW, P&ID Mark Ups BOM, RFQs, and datasheets for small to medium upstream brownfield projects.

• Assume the onsite project leadership role in planning and executing the day’s activities as per the Project Planning & Schedule.

• Review materials, consumables, manpower and equipment on a daily basis and document accordingly.

• Participate in and ensure that daily toolbox meetings are held with the Construction and Operations teams.

• Provide technical support during the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of all aspects of the pipeline installation in order to meet the established objectives.

• Manage the execution of assigned projects from conception to completion.

• Coordinate the procurement processes for assigned projects, including the preparation of scope of works for external service contracts, bidding documents and evaluation of tenders.

• Coordinate personnel, equipment and materials movement with the TSP Logistics Coordinator and contractors.

• Develop a punch list of SOW items not completed or partially completed and ensure agreement with Contractor Supervisor including Job Completion Certificates.

• Ensure that all projects meet the Company’s standards and relevant industry codes.

• Participate in and contribute to HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments.

 

Job Specifications / Qualifications:

  • BSc. Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering OR 10-15 years’ experience in field execution, Project Management & contractor management.
  • Knowledge and experience in oil and gas operations of offshore brown fields.
  • Knowledge of offshore processes, equipment, operational philosophies/control loops and mechanical/process design codes and standards.
  • Computer-literate with mandatory proficiency in Microsoft applications including MS Projects
  • HSE-minded and-oriented.
  • Experience in working on live oil & gas handling and processing facilities
  • Project management training would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with ACADD would be an asset.
  • Proficient in the English language.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Onshore-based position
  • Shall be required to visit and/or work on offshore oil & gas production platforms to execute activities associated with given responsibilities.
  • Shall be required to visit the Galeota warehouse & logistics base to execute activities associated with given responsibilities.
  • Shall be required to visit contractor fabrication shops.
  • May be required to work on scheduled off days to attend meetings, or to provide technical support for projects in which incumbent is normally engaged.
