Maintenence Supervisor

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB/ JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day to day maintenance and assistance in supervision and safety of equipment and plant within the scope described ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal down time on all equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Maintenance

• Regular Servicing of Equipment
• Outsourcing outside contractors for works
• Routine checks and quick response to any unexpected breakdown 
• Ensure that department checklists are being completed and filed correctly
• Making reports to the Plant Engineer on performance of the department 
• Developing training tools
• Training staff prior to any contact with equipment.

• Sourcing/ordering parts

Personnel

• Assist in the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution
• May be asked to assist in the evaluation of performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions
• Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

Reporting & Planning

• Reduction of Waste [Fuel, water, waste management]
• Data collection and analysis
• May participate in the preparation of contracts
• Provides advice and assistance to management in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing maintenance systems, and procedures
• Provides monthly reports on outsourced services utilized
• Provide Monthly report on Premises Maintenance activities undertaken (carpentry, painting, masonry, etc)

Grounds

• Safety – fire alarm service/contracts
• Ventilation
• Plumbing and Water Management
• Fuel and Energy Supply

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees installation of equipment
• Assist in the development of training manuals
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
• 8 years' experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with maintenance of machines electrical control systems design and implementation
• knowledge of JS21

• 8 years being in supervisory position.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs

• Extremely Organized and Tidy
• Timely
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of persons
• Potential to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 
• Possess a valid Drivers’ License; ownership of motor vehicle would be an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Long hours, including evenings and weekends are common. Working under pressure is unavoidable when schedules change and problems arise, but deadlines and goals must still be met.
• Work schedules can be irregular and frequently interrupted. Schedules often have to be rearranged so that workers can meet deadlines, deliver speeches, attend meetings and community activities, and travel.

GENERAL ADVANCEMENT

The Maintenance Technician Supervisor may advance to Maintenance Manager.
