About the Role

The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the financial/management systems, procedures, controls and policies for the Barbados OpCo,Wealth Management &Trinidad are appropriate and functioning so that timely, accurate and reliable information is produced. The incumbent is responsible for consolidation, review and commentary for these operations and has the ability to critically analyse data and highlight key issues in a clear & concise manner and provide recommendations on actions to improve performance in these entities.

 

About Success

  • Responsible for and ensures the timely and accurate preparation of all monthly financial statements, variance analyses of the general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for managing the processing of all journal entries. This includes managing input timing, reviewing and approving entries,maintaining adequate support and filing of this support as per Bank policy.
  • Prepares a monthly latest estimate file for Head Office, and reviews all reports prepared by the Senior Financial Analysts for external use by business unit heads and the Managing Directors of the Barbados & the Trinidad Operating Companies on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Review for accuracy, responsibility includes monitoring to ensure that all reports produced are aligned with current requirements of the relevant stakeholder. Prepares all annual financial statements, with related notes, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)and the Bank’s financial reporting guidelines.

 

About You

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a management capacity. A minimum of 3 years’ prior experience working in / with financial institutions (preferably commercial banking).
  • Experience in managing multiple and competing assignments.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating audits.
  • Accounting designation (ACCA/CPA/ CA or other similar designation).
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and organisational structure.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations and policies, particularly those dealing with reporting for Banks and Financial Institutions.
