GCG Group St. Maarten is a member of the GCG Group which operates in twenty-one countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the USA. We are seeking to recruit a skilled and highly motivated individual to join the team in the capacity of Country Station Manager.
The successful individual is mainly responsible for increasing the operational efficiency and delivering profits of their respective entities. This role is responsible for the catering, food and beverage airport concession and any other commercial ventures in the market. The role will ensure a safe and efficient operation and serve as a company representative on regulatory or other matters.
Principal Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Is responsible for the operational profitability of all business in the market.
• Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports and problem resolution.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
• Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
• Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives.
• Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
• To develop budgets and rolling forecast for all business lines. Analyze operating costs, recommend and implement strategies to improve these cost. Review and present business performance reports monthly from data in the monthly and at key planning times. Provide strategies and action plans to deliver the results whilst implementing on time in full.
• Ensure all restaurants are Staffed, open for business, clean and operating to the highest performance possible. Making the supervisors and stuff accountable.
• Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems.
• Will also coordinate activities and find synergies between the inflight catering kitchen, VIP Lounge, F&B Airport Concession or other business lines.
• This position needs to have a successful relationship with the landlord and be a great leader
• Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
• Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site.
Qualifications and experience desired for the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years’ of proven experience in an operations management position and Food and Beverage Airline Concessions, Airline Catering, Industrial Catering, Airline industry preferred Skills and other attributes desired:
• Knowledge in international business operations, experience leading unionized teams or complex business structures.
• Possess a sharp business mind and proven success managing multiple departments toward maximum productivity
• Proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team
• Strong budget development and oversight skills
• Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
• Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
• Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) etc.
• Able to communicate in English orally and in writing; Spanish would be an asset but not required
