Corporate Manager, Sustainability

The Corporate Manager of Sustainability will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the sustainability strategies of Sandals Resorts International. This individual will lead cross-functional teams, develop and execute sustainability programmes, and drive initiatives that align with our commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. The successful candidate will report directly to the CAO and work collaboratively with various departments to embed sustainability into the core of our business operations.

 

Specific requirements/duties of the position include:

  • Developing, implementing and communicating a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the company’s purpose, values and long-term objectives.
  • Establishing clear sustainability goals, metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure impact.
  • Staying current with industry trend, best practices and incorporating innovative approaches into the sustainability strategy.
  • Collaborating with department heads and senior management to integrate sustainability considerations into all aspects of the business, including product development, supply chain, operations and marketing.
  • Championing initiatives by fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organization.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of professionals to ensure the successful execution of sustainability projects and initiatives.
  • Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for reducing environmental impact, such as energy efficiency, waste reduction and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Overseeing the development of sustainable sourcing and procurement practices.
  • Managing environmental compliance and reporting requirements and ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Developing and managing social responsibility programmes, including community engagement, diversity and inclusion initiatives and employee volunteerism.

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) in sustainability, environmental management or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least eight years of leadership experience in sustainability or ESG-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability principles, regulations and industry trends.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate sustainability goals into actionable plans.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting and ESG disclosure frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) is a plus.
