ACCOUNTANT

 Accountant


JOB FUNCTION:

Supervision employees in the Accounting Department and responsible for performing budgetary analysis and preparation of financial reports in keeping with FPATT’s financial policies and guidelines.

 

KEY DUTIES:

  1. Developing and managing the implementation of a comprehensive financial management system to ensure achievement of corporate objectives.
  2. Development and managing the implementation of appropriate standards and financial control procedures so as to ensure the integrity of the financial system and reliability of accounting information in keeping with international accounting standards.
  3. Ensuring that all financial activities and services are performed in a timely, efficient and customer-oriented manner.
  4. Ensuring the development and maintenance of effective systems for the invoicing, collection, receipting, banking or revenues, purchasing system and payment of accounts.
  5. Maintaining a comprehensive management accounting system for the Association in accordance with policies established by the Board.
  6. Reviewing, monitoring and reporting on the Association’s financial performance against approved budget provisions.
  7. Preparing or overseeing the preparation of financial reports illustrating variances and projections compared with approved budgets as required.
  8. Participate with other senior staff in providing assistance in budget preparation, financial planning and financial decisions related to the organization as a whole.
  9. Ensuring the optimum return on the Association’s investment portfolio and managing it in a reasonable manner.
  10. Maintaining the payroll system and ensuring compliance with Governmental, statutory and individual donor requirements.
  11. To safeguard all the assets of the Association.
  12. Developing and managing the Association’s procurement and inventory control systems to ensure the cost-effective availability of required goods, services and equipment.
  13. Work in a co-operative manner with the external auditors appointed at the Annual General Meeting to facilitate and expedite the annual audit review.
  14. Support, coach and develop staff in a participative workplace so as to fully engage and motivate and sustain optimum productivity.
  15. Carrying out any other responsibility that may be assigned to you from time to time.

 

 Personal Qualifications:

• Professional Qualification: ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

• Minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position

• At least three years supervisory experience will be an asset

• Experience in fund accounting will be an asset

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

• Effective communication, strong interpersonal and leadership skill
