Core Functions:
• Originate and execute business opportunities with a view to expanding the company’s asset and liability portfolio and client base.
• Maintain and grow existing client accounts by servicing client relationships and ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as presenting new solutions and services
• Continually identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships, and serve as a recurring source of referrals for new lending and investing opportunities.
• To effectively act as the first layer of underwriting by assessing proposals/ applications to determine whether the opportunity is one suited to the company.
• To prepare the transaction application package for submission to the underwriting department and to have ownership of the internal process through to final execution and post disbursement maintenance.
• Prepare weekly origination dashboards to track business development activity and maintain the deal pipe schedule to ensure efficient transaction execution
• Make assessments, write memoranda, draft correspondence on accounts as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a retail or commercial lending or related business development experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Understanding of core bank products and services
• Proven track record of sales and outside calling skills
• Local market knowledge and the ability to develop, retain and expand relationships
• Ability to develop strong customer and colleague relationships
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
