Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join their accounting team. You will play a crucial role in accurately inputting accounting transactions into the Peachtree Accounting software. You will also be responsible for assisting in the preparation of cheques and vouchers, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently enter accounting transactions into the Peachtree Accounting software.
  • Review source documents, such as invoices, receipts, and purchase orders, to ensure all relevant information is captured.
  • Verify and reconcile discrepancies in data, working closely with the accounting team to resolve any inconsistencies.
  • Assist in the preparation of cheques and vouchers for various financial transactions, adhering to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain a high level of data accuracy and integrity while performing data entry tasks.
  • Organize and file physical and electronic documents to ensure easy retrieval and documentation of financial records.
  • Collaborate with team members to address questions, concerns, and clarifications related to data entry and accounting procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of data entry processes by suggesting and implementing efficiency-enhancing strategies.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards when dealing with sensitive financial information.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role 
  • Familiarity with Peachtree Accounting software
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use spreadsheet software and perform accurate keyboarding.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and seek clarification when necessary.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
