JOB OPPORTUNITY

Human Resource Officer

 

Employment Type: Full- time, Permanent  

Location: East and Central

MINIMUM QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience within similar role.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and ability to interact with all levels
  • Excellent MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel & Word
  • Experience in MicroPay or MicroHR will be an asset.
  • Able to work independently and highly meticulous
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be proactive and have the ability to effectively execute multiple functions with precision and minimum supervision.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 HR Administration

  • Pay Administration in accordance with Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain up to date electronic and paper records on Leave, Pay, Performance, Discipline, Training and Employee Services.
  • Produce Weekly and Monthly Management reports on HR action taken at the establishment as required

 Management support

  • Work alongside the organization management team to advise, recommend and implement all HR Policies and Procedures.

Recruitment

  • Receive requests for new hires from managers.
  • Meet with managers to determine department needs.
  • Draft internal and/or external vacancy postings.
  • Receive and Screen applications.
  • Conduct interviews
  • Assist in selection
  • Advise on successful candidates
  • Reference Checks and advise department on status
  • Prepare Offer letters/contracts
  • Payroll advise & update MicroHR
  • Monitor Probation performance

Employee Relations

  • Receive Performance Reports
  • Meet with Department Managers to determine action and advise SHRO of recommended action.
  • Conduct investigation as required and document findings.
  • Implement recognition or disciplinary as approved by the Manager or Core Management Team.
  • Produce weekly and monthly management reports on employee statistics as required.

 Training and Development Administration

  • Co-ordinate Training days with HR Consultant and the establishment Manager
  • Prepare documents for Training Programs
  • Organize and implement training requirements, e.g. meals, facilities, equipment
  • Maintain employee training records
  • Report on Training program outcomes
  • Report on Training program statistics and summary of outcomes
