Asset Care Technician

 

West Indies Rum Distillery Limited (Established 1893), a leading manufacturer of rum and rum-based products for local, regional and international markets, is seeking to recruit a self-driven and motivated good sense of responsibility and accountability. Asset Care Technician to join our team.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Installing new plant machinery according to specifications.
  • Conducting preventative and predicative maintenance on plant equipment according to the Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals to grasp an understanding of the functioning of the machinery (this would be essential to repairs).
  • Performing emergency repairs when necessary (especially after regular working hours).
  • Diagnosing problems with equipment, replacing and repairing faulty parts, testing and making required adjustments where necessary.

 

Required Competencies:

 

  • Technical Diploma (i.e., Electrical, Plant Maintenance or Mechanical), City & Guilds Certificate, Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area (i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics etc.).
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to work in hot environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (motors, contactors, etc.), hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, valves, actuators and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of PLC and plant automation would be an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills (including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Be performance driven and results-oriented.
  • Must be accountable and ethical in all conduct.
