The Main Responsibilities of the Sales Agent are:
Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs by ensuring
company policies are communicated prior to purchase.
Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning
and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and past market trends as well as inventory
volumes
Submits orders by referring to price lists and product specification.
Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as call
logs, weekly reports, planned schedule or any changes that may affect the smooth
delivery of items ordered by customers.
Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products,
new products, delivery schedules, and other sales related techniques.
Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating sales volume and
industry trends.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions,
preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending required training and
development workshops to ensure that they are knowledgeable about products and
services offered.
Provides historical data by maintaining records on assigned area and customer sales.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related target results as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school certificate required with a minimum of 5 CXC subjects
EXPERIENCE
Previous sales experience required.
Proficient computer skills.
Knowledge of computer programs
Specific Duties
Provide customers with accurate up to date information about prices, product
specification and company policies regarding receiving goods
Answers phones and e-mails, proactively calls existing customers each day to upsell
products and advise of specials and take orders.
Makes at least 20 cold calls daily to prospective clients to assist in achieving
departmental targets, using existing or newly created data base to inform clients of
existing specials and invite them to make a purchase.
Keys orders received including phonecards and ensure that information is inputted on
the system accurately and special requests are highlighted
Liaise with meat room, accounts and warehouse as needed to facilitate smooth
processing of orders.
Handles collection of all outstanding monies from customers in a timely manner and
monitors credit limit of each account
Advises customers of delivery schedule changes
Conduct site visits to monitor accounts or to verify location of new account
Complete new customer data information sheet for all new customers
Ensure that customers requesting credit or cheque payment submit the requisite
documents.
Conducts investigation upon receipt of complaints from customers and submits
appropriate form to management
Attend schedule meetings
Communicate with delivery men throughout the day on their assigned routes to mitigate
any delays or challenges being experienced by customer or deliverymen.
Submits weekly report of activities carried out for that week
Conduct regular site visits to customers and submits travel log sheets
Participates in promotional activities to enhance public awareness of the company
Monitors targets given by department head
Ensure that orders communicated to Sales Admin are accurate and stated in the
required format
Updates customer information on system every three months to ensure all contents are
up to date
Work Hours & Benefits:
All Sales Agents are required to work a Five (5) day work week and will be scheduled
accordingly by the head of the Sales Department. There may be occasions where work on
weekend is required however prior notice will be given.
A base salary will be provided for new agents and the amount gradually reduced as the agent
starts generating commission from sales.
A travelling allowance will be given for site visits done by agent
Management reserves the right to add other duties as the need arises or change specific
duties of each agent at any time.
