The Billing & Securities Officer is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s position as lien holder is protected; by ensuring that all security documents are legally enforceable and duly registered by the relevant government agencies.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviewing, recording and submitting documents for stamping to the government Stamp Office, registration at theNational Land Agency, Life Insurance Companies and the Companies Office of Jamaica within the stipulatedtimeline.
Tracking and following up outstanding security documents to ensure that all documents are duly stamped,registered, recorded and held.
Resolving issues with unprocessed or bounced documents with external agency personnel.
Reconciling Stamp Duty, Credit Bureau, Land Agency, Companies Office payments daily and ensuring that allaccounts are balanced.
Review and make payments from internal accounts based on assessment from the respective government agency.
Refunding client settlement accounts any excess payments.
Reconciling payments made for documents stamped internally on behalf of the Stamp Office and passing entry tomake payment.
Preparing the monthly return to the Tax Administration Department for duties paid.
Assisting with the release and discharge process for all loan types for both Retail and Corporate facilities;
Assist with the maintenance of insurance renewals for assets charged as collateral
Assisting with Vault archiving, filing and culling;
Assisting with updating and maintenance of collateral records in the banking system.
Ensuring that Insurance over assets charged are maintained;
Ensuring that Securities are discharged in accordance with policy and SLAs.
Ensuring the loan disbursement files for all loan types are checked off within the stipulated timeline.
