INTERNAL AUDITOR

The Auditor is responsible for conducting of Audits as instructed by the Commercial & Finance Manager ensuring that the standards, methodology and ethics of the auditing profession are observed and adhered to in the execution of the audits.

Job Qualifications:

  • ACCA Level II or equivalent
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of internal control systems.
  • Internal audit skills
  • Basic knowledge of Accounting and Inventory software
  • Knowledge of Financial, Administration and Audit Act (FAA Act)
  • Computer literacy with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good Time Management Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (written and oral)
  • Four (4) years in the auditing field at a supervisory level in the manufacturing environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Auditor are geared towards the achievement of objectives of the company.  The functions are defined as but not limited to:

  • Determine whether adequate internal controls are in place for the preparation and maintenance of accounting records
  • Conduct audits on internal processes to ensure compliance on a departmental basis
  • Ensure that accounts are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices and financial regulation.
  • Conduct and assist in supervising the examination of fixed assets inventory and assess the system of control over such assets
  • Ascertain whether the statutory deductions are being remitted on a timely basis.
  • Conduct and assist in supervising and preparing the audit posting of accounts receivables, expenditure vouchers, bank reconciliation statements, journal vouchers, loans, blank cheque register, petty cash, salaries and wages to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Examine and assist in supervising audit of the payment of various allowances against the requirements for payment of same.
  • Verify data entered for all raw material, packaging materials, finished goods and abrasives received in stock by the Inventory Clerk.
  • Identify suitable solutions to control weaknesses recognized
  • Implement and maintain audit schedule for retail outlets for both inventory and cash 
  • Participate in stock count activities
  • Supervise audits at retail outlets
  • Determine methodology to be utilized for each audit
  • Ensure that recommendations and management decisions are implemented in a timely manner
  • Allow corrective actions to be within reasonable time so as to enhance the integrity of the financial statement
