CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR

Expert Finishes T&T Ltd. is a registered general construction company in Trinidad and Tobago dedicated to provide quality services in the sector. We are searching for a highly skilled and effective Construction Project Coordinator to help us oversee projects. This is a key position that plan, organize, and direct the activities of the construction project(s), under the direction of the Managing Director. You will be required to work on-site most of the time, looking after the day-to-day responsibilities of the project whist reporting to the MD.

Candidates should be able to work in collaboration with the team members and have excellent leadership skills as well as outstanding communication skills. 

Candidate must have at least 5 years working experience in the construction industry and experience with residential and commercial outfitting will be preferred.

This position is a contract position and project-based. Should other projects become onstream, the Candidate would be required to assist with up to 2 projects.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT COORDINATOR

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise the construction project(s) from start to finish.
• Plan and manage the development and implementation stages of assigned projects.
• Evaluate the tasks to be completed and identify resource requirements (human, financial, equipment and material)
• Coordinate with architects and engineers and key personnel to understand the project details and requirements.
• Manage external Sub-contractors to ensure they adhere to scheduled activities and meet relevant deadlines.
• Ensure work is according to industry standards and drawing specifications.
• Delegate tasks and assign responsibilities to direct personnel and ensure they are carried out.
• Monitor the performance of personnel on site and provide directions and feedback as and when required.
• Ensure daily and weekly deadlines and goals are met.
• Submit daily and weekly reports to document work completed, issues or outstanding information required.
• Document, communicate and send out emails as required for information for projects as needed.
• Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions.
• Ensure resources are being used to the optimum to provide best results.
• Address any grievance of personnel. Forward to Management as needed.
• Report any discrepancies to superiors and implement effective and timely solutions.
• Ensure all legal, health and safety regulations are being followed throughout the project.
• Conducting ongoing quality inspections.
• Attend site visits and take necessary information including measurements and quantities for tendering.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or similar (would be an asset).
• Must be able to accurately interpret drawings and information therein.
• Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and Projects.
• 5+ years of construction site coordination/management experience.
• Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and lead a team.
• Skilled at solving conflicts between different project members and staff.
• Outstanding negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to put together properly formatted reports and submit electronically.
• Experience with cost estimation and AUTOCAD would be an asset.
• A valid driving permit would be an asset.
• Must have at least 3-5 years experience with residential construction and commercial outfitting.
