To support the marketing unit in the execution marketing activities, including marketing communications, events, sponsorships and promotions.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Executes events, sponsorships and promotions, for the JMMB Group brand in Jamaica, as assigned, as follows:

 

  • Produce detailed proposals for events (e.g. timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)
  • Coordinate, deploy and manage a network of JMMB team members to support effective delivery of events
  • Provide coordination and execution of local branch sales and sponsorship activities with Branch Managers
  • Ensure relevant collateral material pieces are prepared for clients and potential clients
  • Develop and issue requests for proposals (RFPs) to all sites and suppliers relevant to cost-effective and efficient event execution, as needed
  • Obtain relevant regulatory permits, where necessary, including health, fire, police and parish council permits, for events
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with service providers, e.g. hotels, other meeting locations, caterers and speakers
  • Organize registration of event participants and ensure coordination for sales follow-up with agreed unit, e.g. Client Care Centre
  • Coordinate suppliers, handle client queries and troubleshoot on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly, which includes managing displays and recorded content
  • Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details - ensuring administrative tracking of funds spent, including maintaining receipts and submitting event expenses in a timely manner
  • Oversee the dismantling and removal of the event and clearing the venue efficiently
  • Review relevant bills for accuracy and coordinate the payment process for events and sponsorship activities
  • Maintain log and file of all event photos (in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Officer)
  • Tracking and compiling clippings of all advertising and public relations placements (for JMMB and its major competitors) in the print media, in the marketing unit’s scrapbook
  • Co-manages the organization and execution of client gift sourcing and distribution Christmas gifts and calendars
  • Ensure post-event evaluations are completed in order to determine how future events could be improved. This involves:
    • Including analysis and production of reports for event stakeholders; and
    • Explicitly tracking the following factors (not exhaustive): attendance, leads generated from each event, product take-up, cross-selling effectiveness, ROI and making necessary recommendations, where necessary

 

 

Executes marketing communication activities for the JMMB Group brand in Jamaica, as assigned, as follows:

 

  1. Ensure the implementation of marketing communication campaign activities, through, but not limited to:
  • Preparation of creative briefs for the marketing agency;

  • Selection of the mix of media to be employed and media schedules (in conjunction with the Marketing Administrator);

  • Consideration of audience availability;

  • Preparation of a budget, submitting it for approval; and

  • Tracking information to support post-implementation impact assessment of campaigns.

     

  1. Ensure the development of marketing collateral material for external use:
      • Develops copy/content, sometimes in conjunction with suppliers or other department team members, for all collateral and educational materials including press releases, brochures, flyers, newsletters, posters, statement messages, advertisements and en masse client letters;
      • Reviews and approves supplements for publication;
      • Working with the supplier or the Creative Services Officer to align on design and layout; and
      • See to the printing and first-time distribution (to the branch network) of all collateral material.

 

  1. Support, as necessary, in the execution of corporate communications/public relations activities (in conjunction with the Corporate Communications Lead). This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Development of media releases and other corporate communications pieces; and

      • Preparation of media packages.

         

  1. Support, as necessary, in the execution of digital marketing activities. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Copywriting of social media posts; and

      • Management of social media coverage at events, as necessary.

 

  1. Manages participation in marketing communication-based sponsorship initiatives, through:
  • Receiving all solicitation requests;

  • Making sound recommendations for participation to the Marketing Manager;

  • Working with the supplier or Creative Services Officer, to see to the execution of the sponsorship;

  • Conducting follow-up and quality assurance to ensure sponsorship was done as agreed; and

  • Ensure payment is made (in conjunction with the Marketing Administrator).

     

     

     

    Support the overall mandate of the marketing department, as a key support unit, through:

     

  • Monitoring of the marketing activities of key competitors, and making recommendations accordingly.

  • Keeping abreast of best practices in marketing and analysing JMMB Jamaica’s resources, and makes recommendations to the Marketing Manager.

  • Participating in the guardianship of the brand, through, but not limited to:

    • Recommending the variety of media to communicate and reinforce brand image;

    • Monitoring compliance with standards; and

    • Making recommendations for appropriate action to be taken to correct breaches or anomalies identified.

  • Assists with the drafting of non-routine correspondence, as required.

  • Assists in the development of the marketing plan for JMMB Jamaica.

  • Assists in the development of monthly marketing reports to the board of directors, as required.

  • Performs any other duties, which may be assigned from time to time, as may be required to support the achievement of the marketing mandate of the country and of the Group.

 

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • First degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a similar field of study. Tertiary level certification in marketing required, if degree is in another field.
  • Licensed by the Financial Services Commission or a suitable candidate for licensing.
  • Exposure to and experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with money market instruments and financial sector laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written formats. Familiarity with use and interpretation of non-verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of and experience in digital marketing, planning, execution and analysis (i.e. social media, email, search engine, website)
  • Strong computers skills, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, the internet (including social media), and web writing.
  • At least three years’ work experience in the field of marketing.
  • Must be logistics driven, have good time management skills and must be self-motivated.
  • Must be outcome-oriented in thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster harmonious relations.
  • Distinct display of initiative.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to be able to work under pressure and for extraordinary hours.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
