Stade’s Rum Visitors Centre

 

The new and highly anticipated Stade’s Visitors Centre (a division of The West Indies Rum Distillery - established in 1893) is looking to hire individuals to fill the following posts:

 

Distillery Tour Guide

 

The ideal candidate would be expected to conduct guided tours of the distillery (including educating visitors and rum enthusiasts on the history and production of associated rum brands), facilitate tastings and promote the sales of rum products, cocktails, merchandise and other brand related offerings.

 

Required Competencies:

 

  • A sound secondary education with Caribbean Examination Council (C.X.C.) passes or equivalent in Mathematics and English A. Tertiary education in Hospitality Studies or related field would be an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Excellent communication with the ability to speak two (2) or more foreign languages (e.g., French and Spanish) would be an asset.
  • Good multi-tasking and prioritization skills; outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and be a team player.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move products, and use products as appropriate for demonstration.
  • Computer and software proficiency including a working knowledge of MS Office and POS systems.

 

Visitors Centre Experience Representative

 

The ideal candidate would be expected to manage online and in-person tour bookings and provide a high-end hospitality experience from greeting to departure for every visitor. The role also entails representing the company during both internal and external events.

Required Competencies:

 

  • A sound secondary education with Caribbean Examination Council (C.X.C.) passes or equivalent in Mathematics and English A. Tertiary education in Hospitality Studies or related field would be an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the hospitality, tourism industry or rum manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to speak at least one foreign language (i.e., French or Spanish) would be an asset.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Must be willing to cross-train within other areas of the Visitors Centre.
  • Must have an understanding of the retail sales process.
  • Computer and software proficiency including strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), POS, reservation software and inventory management system.
