HEAD OF ACCOUNTING

The Head of Accounting will be required to embrace the organization’s core values, vision and strategic objectives and have the enthusiasm to excite direct and indirect reports to execute accordingly. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Head of Accounting will handle the overall leadership and management of the Accounting Department in accordance with established guidelines to achieve operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Lead the accounting team by planning, directing and coordinating operational activities in keeping with established accounting standards.
2. Collaborate with the Head of Finance and other managers to discuss, agree and execute strategies aligned with the Company’s strategic plan.
3. Prepare Financial Statements for external reporting purposes to include regulatory and tax returns.
4. Prepare reports to reflect the Company’s performance to include Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet.
5. Oversee the Internal Audit process to determine the effectiveness of Internal Controls and make necessary changes appropriately.
6. Review and update accounting processes and procedures that reflect current standards and ensure the team is adequately trained to ensure accurate accounting records at all times.
7. Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funds are in place to always conduct the Company’s business.
8. Lead to establish a caring work environment. Ensure individual development plans are established for members of the team in response to gaps and their career paths to ultimately improve employee engagement and experience.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

MSc. Accounting, ACCA or CPA Designation

Minimum 3-5 years in a similar role

Demonstrated Knowledge of General Accepted International Financial Reporting Standards

People Management Skills

Excellent Interpersonal, Collaboration, Communication and Leadership Skills

Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills

Business Acumen Skills

Proficiency in Accounting Software and Microsoft Applications
