Junior Investment Analyst
The Junior Investment Analyst is responsible for undertaking research to provide relevant information to the management of the unit and by extension the Investment Committee to enable effective decision making in relation to the investment portfolio. He/She will assist with the coverage of all asset classes across all markets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in close collaboration with the Executive Chairman and Investment Team to provide thorough analysis and actionable investment recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of relevant reports for the Investment Committee and Board of Trustees as required.
- Assist in the development of financial risk models/approaches to appropriately manage the risks associated with current and prospective investments.
- Evaluate the Financials of local and international companies in which the Fund has investment positions.
- Monitor all income-earning investments on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to ensure collection of monies due.
- Liaise with investment houses to ensure prompt remittance of securities and funds.
- Maintain database for security collateral held and ensure accuracy of attendant documentation.
- Prepare reports on the Fund’s Investment Portfolio as required by regulatory standards of the Pensions Act 2004 and Investment Regulations 2006.
- Provide support to the Real Estate Officer.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
- A minimum of a First Degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics or a similar discipline.
Skills, Attributes and Competencies Required:
- Self-directed agile Learner.
- Strong curiosity about and genuine interest in financial/economic markets.
- Excellent Computer Application skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of statistical or econometric software.
- Ability to focus on detail, and to produce work that is accurate.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
