We are a fast-moving medium-sized Distribution and Processing Company seeking to identify a suitably qualified individual for the position Collection and Reconciliation Officer for our Kingston location:

Job Summary

The collections and reconciliation officer are responsible for reconciling payments to ensure the accounting systems reflects the correct transactions per sales representatives and cashiers. Contacting clients to collect outstanding payments on delinquent accounts and guides the credit customers towards repayment as per agreed timeline to ensure that customers accounts are in good financial standing.

Key Functions:

  • Conduct audit on Cash on Delivery (COD) Customers daily and account for outstanding balances per Cashiers Report.  Reporting anomalies immediately
  • Audit Reconciliations sheets for all Sales Representatives monthly and provide summary of findings by 10th day of new month.
  • Perform verification and reconciliation of payments on customer accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable records with sales invoices.
  • Process, verify and reconcile input documentation for new accounts.
  • Prepares spread sheet of receipts received from Sales Representative daily and cross check receipt number/date/amount and other relevant information thereon for correctness daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Report anomalies to Credit & Collections Manager upon observation
  • Reconciles In-House customer delinquent accounts as necessary in order of priority to ensure that customers’ accounts are in good financial standing.
  • Reconcile and verify bank deposits and payments.
  • Engages in accounts receivables and debt recovery activities.
  • Maintain regular contacts with internal and external customers with outstanding invoices.
  • Support the month end process by completing verification of payments on a timely basis.

Minimum Requirement & Competencies:

  • Diploma in accounting or CAT level 11 or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in Accounts Receivable
  • Strong knowledge of accounting is an asset.
  • A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Computer literate, with sound knowledge in word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting packages
