The Learning Management Systems (LMS) Administrator is responsible for the day to day management, operation and maintenance of the LMS platform. He/She ensures the continuous and efficient operation of the LMS as it supports the work of the online community.

He/She ensures the continuous and efficient operation of the LMS as it supports the work of the online community.   The LMS Administrator provides technical assistance and support to department Chairs, Faculty and Students and assists with training on the use of the LMS platform when necessary.  He/She must actively keep abreast of developments in software tools/instructional technologies that can enhance the teaching and learning environment and produce well written reports on the status of the LMS environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily management (implementation and ongoing administration) of the College’s LMS platform.
  • Provide technical support to students, faculty and staff using the LMS platform.
  • Monitor usage and performance of the LMS.
  • Plan and coordinate LMS upgrades as required.
  • Manage system maintenance updates, security updates, database maintenance, and system backups.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technology Services Department to manage integration and data transfer between the LMS and other enterprise applications. 
  • Assist in training faculty and students in the use of the LMS. 
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all information and data residing on the LMS.
  • Serve as the key liaison answering key questions of participants, both in-person and online, over online chat, email, and telephone.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and testing activities, when necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science  in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution.  Linux + certification
  • At least three (3) years’ experience working in information technology in a higher education setting
  • Experience in providing technical support for an institution’s LMS platform
  • Comprehensive understanding of computer hardware, software and possess excellent IT trouble shooting skills in both the MAC and PC platform
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Proficiency in Apache and My SQL

 

 

Compensation:

Salary- $12,000 - $15,500 per month
