LAND SURVEYOR

 China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Land Surveyor for our Projects in Kingston and St. Thomas.

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys and performing calculations and measurements for the various construction projects.

Responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct site surveys and give reports on the various work sites
• Taking measurements on distances and angles to establish boundaries
• Prepare designs from technical specifications
• Use specialized equipment including GPS and Geographic Information System devises to measure boundaries and contours
• Perform mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements
• Complete elevation and coordinate calculation according to drawingss.
• Analyze data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs
• Provide technical support for construction team

Requirements:

•  Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Science or other related discipline
• At least three (3) years’ field experience in highway engineering
• Knowledge in the use of Total Station, levelling and GPS surveying instrument
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Highly responsive with strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
