What’s the Opportunity?

The JN Group is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Project Manager, Road Safety and Road User Education Projects. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development and execution of activities in support of the approved project plan in order to efficiently manage resources and meet financial and other reporting requirements; proactively identify risks and develop mitigating initiatives; identify and exploit opportunities for improvement; and, lead on knowledge sharing to achieve long-term sustainability objectives.

  • Utilise effective project management techniques to ensure the successful achievement of objectives as defined in project plans and work schedules, with close attention to stakeholder engagement and publicity
  • Monitor and manage project progress and risks while executing appropriate intervention to maintain timelines and manage expenses
  • Efficiently procure and manage suppliers according to the requirements of funders and other collaborators
  • Efficiently identify, and exploit partnerships with local and international partners, ensuring sustained involvement of the NRSC and its collaborators within the Government of Jamaica
  • Identify, track and monitor project Key Performance Indicators and Milestones, in order to ensure effective and impactful execution
  • Ensure effective assessment in order to maximize impact and exploit opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and distribute M&E reports and other documentation as required by local and international partners
  • Develop and monitor budgets, cash flow management and financial reports as per requirements
  • Oversee and manage training initiatives to ensure the project team is prepared for effective functioning and to preserve long-term sustainability of the project
  • Identify and exploit knowledge sharing opportunities to improve outcomes of project
What will make you successful?
  • Master’s Degree in Business, Project Management, Development Studies or related discipline
  • Three (3) – Five (5) years’ work experience
  • Professional Certification in Project Management would be an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skill
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Engaging and dynamic personality with superb customer service orientation
  • Team oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Strong selling and relationship management skills
  • High level of proficiency in use of computer systems, particularly MS Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude
