Responsibilities:
This key operational role is responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of the facility.
The Plant Manager is charged with leading and developing all operational staff, while encompassing the highest of ADM standards in the following areas: Safety, Quality, Grain Handling, Milling, Packaging, and all finished product operations. The candidate must exemplify professional operational standards to exceed any customer expectations.
The Plant Manager must focus and direct operational standards through the continued development of departmental leaders, proactive upkeep of process equipment and systems, nurture outstanding interdepartmental and commercial relationships in accordance with ADM standards. As the Plant Manager, it is expected that the individual will continuously work to optimize yields, moistures, capacity and product quality in accordance with budgetary parameters. Additionally, the Plant Manager must develop and supervise capital improvement projects to be complete within scope, on time and budget. Maintain records in accordance with established ADM policies and procedures.  The Plant Manager reports directly to the Regional Operations Director.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Elevator, Flour Mill, Warehouse and Packaging Department.
• Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment to obtain optimum performance.
• Utilize production personnel and equipment in a safe & efficient manner to obtain maximum capacity and performance with optimum yields and quality product.
• Plan, initiate and put into operation, capital improvement programs within the plant.
• Drive development of operational S.O.P.s for production process.
• Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices
• Work with location supervisors on the continued development and implementation of Health & Safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate & participate in audits, prioritizing and tracking completion of findings.

Requirements:
 

• A minimum of a first degree in Milling Science and Technology or possibly a related field of Engineering with at least five (5) years of hands-on production/supervisory management experience in a Cereal Milling, Grain Processing or Food Grade Operation.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills would be essential.
• Milling experience with both soft and hard wheats would be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• The considered candidate will have a confident and courteous manner, strong leadership, problem solving, self-motivation and organizational skills.
• A strong commitment to employee safety.
• Well-developed time management and communication skills – both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position.
• Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and working with tools, working within close-confined spaces and working within extreme temperatures.
