JUNIOR CREDIT ANALYST - UNDERWRITER

TRADE & COMMERCIAL LENDING DIVISION

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Interview loan applicants and process loan applications
• Prepare written submissions and recommendations to the relevant approval authority
• Perform credit and financial analysis on loan applications and SBCL applications
• Prepare letters of commitment to clients and SBCL notifications
• Establish and monitor letters of credit and other transactions
• Make field visits when necessary
• Assess applications for Trade Credit Insurance and issue policies
• Represent the Bank at exhibitions and expositions
• Prepare disbursement requests
• Liaise with AFIs, agencies and international banks
• Market the Bank’s credit and insurance facilities
• Assist with effective management of risks and implement risk reduction strategies

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

The position requires the following qualifications/experience: 

• Degree in Business related discipline/Professional Accreditation/Diploma plus 2 years work experience

OR

• Certificate from an accredited institution in a related discipline plus 2 years related work experience 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Experience in interviewing techniques for loan applications
• Working knowledge of the computer and its applications
• Knowledge of international Trade and Finance
• Experience in analysis of financial statements
• Excellent communication skills both in written and oral forms
• Ability to determine credit worthiness of loan applications
• Ability to match clients’ needs to the Bank’s facilities
• Excellent customer service standards and procedures
• Good human relations skills with emphasis on teamwork
