Underwriting Associate

The incumbents are responsible for delivering excellent service to customers at every interaction, assessing prospective customers and assist them in making the best decisions to meet their insurance needs, reviewing and processing underwriting transactions, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the customers’ transactions are expedited and customer’s commitments are met, processing and dispatching cancellations received from the Finance Department.

The positions are based in Portmore and Kingston. Our ideal candidate is dynamic and organized individuals, with strong communication, networking and relationship building skills. At minimum, applicants should possess the following:

• First Degree in Business Management or related field
• Motor and Property Salesman (technical training in all classes of business would be an asset)
• A minimum of two (2) years’ related industry experience
• FSC Registration in at least Motor and Property classes of insurance
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to work as part of a team or individually
• Good time management and the ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite [EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint etc.]
