Job Role and Summary: 

The Handyman is required to perform routine maintenance tasks and other minor jobs at any company’s location or facility in accordance with to our quality control and customer service standards. Flexible to work shift hours included holidays. Work independently and coordinate task with other staff member. Excellent Communication skills being polite with co-workers while conducting duties, and these courtesies and behavior should be the distinguishing hallmark of East Side Bakers Co. Limited employees in the bakery industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 · Performs scheduled and/or unscheduled preventative or routine maintenance tasks at an assigned      location(s).

 · Performs electrical checks and repairs, including but not limited to replacement of bulbs, ballasts or lighting fixtures etc. as necessary.

 · Performs plumbing checks and repairs, including but not limited to unclogs sinks and toilets, repairs of taps and minor leaks, etc. as necessary.

 · Performs carpentry checks and repairs, including but not limited to repair of office or shop doors, cupboard doors, locks, etc. as necessary.

• · Performs minor repairs within and around any of the company’s facilities as required.

 · Assists in the relocation of or removal of furniture/equipment/files and boxes as directed.

 · Conducts routine inspection of office buildings/facilities as well as immediate surroundings and prepares a report on any areas of concern for the information of the branch manager or any other superior.

 · Assists in the preparation of a current list of furniture / equipment for repair inclusive of recommendations for remedial action to be taken.

• · Liaises with all external contractors that may be retained by the company and provides support as necessary to ensure the satisfactory completion of allocated tasks.
• · Prepares tasks/job sheets of activities conducted in accordance with the company’s policies
• · Develops and maintains a log of all parts and materials and ensures sign off by superior in accordance with the company’s procedures
• · Engages in proper housekeeping to ensure that all work areas are kept clean and safe.
• · Secures all materials, equipment and tools in designated areas.
• · Performs any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned.

Education, Knowledge and Experience:

• · Evidence of vocational training in the area of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry etc.
• · Working knowledge of general building and environment maintenance requirements
• · Valid Police Certificate of Good Character
• · Physically fit.
• · Ability to climb ladders.
• · Ability to operate standard tools and equipment in the performance of assigned Handyman duties.
• · At least three (3) years’ working experience performing Handyman functions in a commercial business establishment
• · Knowledge of relevant industry standards OR Equivalent combination of qualifications, training and working experience.
